El impacto de la Revolución Sandinista en la Guerra Fría Interamericana

A pesar de que el impacto de la Guerra Fría en América Central ha sido ampliamente estudiado, menos atención ha recibido la influencia que tuvo América Central en el sistema internacional durante los años ochenta. A partir de una revisión de la historia diplomática y de relaciones internacionales, este artículo se enfocará en el impacto de la revolución Sandinista en la Guerra Fría y el sistema interamericano ofreciendo una revisión crítica de la historiografía reciente y los estudios de la Guerra Fría. El objetivo de este artículo es proponer una nueva lectura sobre el impacto de la revolución Sandinista en diferentes niveles analíticos y geográficos. Al situar a la revolución como eje y nexo de cruciales procesos de transformación política y social durante los años ochenta, buscamos destacar la importancia del estudio de actores supuestamente menores durante la Guerra Fría y exponer su influencia desproporcionada en el sistema internacional.
