Relações Internacionais na crise da ordem liberal

Resumo

O cenário político e econômico internacional dos últimos setenta anos, desde o final da Segunda Guerra Mundial, foi marcado pela economia capitalista e posteriormente adjetivada também liberal, que modelou as sociedades e democracias industriais avançadas. Desde então, a economia mundial tornou-se gradualmente mais aberta, com o crescimento das finanças e do investimento internacional em mercados domésticos. Esforços contínuos foram tomados para o aumento da integração econômica. A década de 1980 apresentou talvez um dos poucos obstáculos que a ordem internacional liberal defrontou. A solução trazida pela direita liberal à época, menos intervenção estatal e combate perene à inflação, foi continuada por governos de centro-esquerda durante as duas décadas seguintes.
